For their first project, I asked them to come up with a saying to encourage incoming 7th graders. Even though we are called Brewer Middle, we only consist of 7th and 8th grade. At the beginning of the year, the 7th graders are always super overwhelmed by changes classes, taking athletics, making new friends and the whole thing. I wanted to post an uplifting phrase to post in the hallways for these kiddos. My 8th grade class came up with many options and then voted. Then, each student designed two letters. Our quote was 'For those who fear what's to come, know there's always someone on your side'.

2014-15 8th- Quote
This was the first year I had an 8th grade class. Whereas my 7th grade classes are a semester long, this class was year long, which was really nice. Now, in May, there are, of course, a lot of things I plan to do differently next year, but over all I feel like we had a lot of successes.
